We Believe

The Holy Scriptures
The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, inerrant, authoritative rule of faith and conduct (II Timothy 3:15-17, I Thessalonians 2:13, II Peter 1:21).

The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare: His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:31, Luke 1:35), His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26, I Peter 2:22), His miracles (Acts 2:22, Acts 10:38), His substitutionary work on the cross (I Corinthians 15:3, II Corinthians 5:21), His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6, Luke 24:39, I Corinthians 15:4), and His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9, Acts 1:11, Acts 2:33, Philippians 2:9-11, Hebrews 1:3).

The Holy Trinity
There is only one, true God–revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity). The terms "Trinity" and "persons" as related to the Godhead, are words in harmony with Scripture, whereby we may convey to others our immediate understanding of the doctrine of Christ respecting the Being of God, as distinguished from "gods many and lords many." We therefore may speak with propriety of the Lord our God who is One Lord, as a trinity or as one Being of three persons, and still be absolutely scriptural (Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 13:14, John 14:16-17).

The Fall of Man
Humanity was created in the image of God but fell from its original sinless state through willful disobedience and Satan’s deception, resulting in eternal condemnation and separation from God (Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 2:17, Genesis 3:6, Romans 5:12-19).

Total Depravity
Due to the fall, human beings in and of themselves and apart from the grace of God can neither think, will, nor do anything good, including believe. But God’s effectual grace prepares and enables sinners to receive the free gift of salvation offered in Christ and His Gospel. Only through the drawing of the Father, can sinners be regenerated by the Holy Spirit unto salvation and spiritual life (Romans 3:10-12, Romans 8:7-8, John 6:44, John 6:65).

Salvation/Justification by Faith Alone
Those whom God effectually calls, He also freely justifies, not by infusing righteousness into them, but by pardoning their sins, and by accounting and accepting them as righteous; not because of any good in them or done by them, but for Christ's sake alone; by imputing Christ's active obedience to the whole law, and passive obedience in His death for their whole righteousness by faith, which faith they have not of themselves; it is the gift of God. (Romans 3:24, Romans 8:30, Romans 4:5-8, I Corinthians 1:30-31, Romans 5:17-19, Philippians 3:8-9, Ephesians 2:8-10, John 1:12-13)

Security in Christ
Since salvation comes through faith in Christ, the security of our salvation continues by faith in Christ. Just as the Holy Spirit empowered us to believe in Christ, so he empowers us to continue believing in Christ. God protects our relationship with Him from any outside force irresistibly snatching us away from Christ or our faith, and He preserves us in salvation. (John 10:28, Philippians 1:6, II Tim. 2:19, I John 2:19).

The Second Coming
The literal second coming of our Lord, the literal rule of Christ upon the earth, the resurrection of the regenerate to eternal life and the unregenerate to eternal damnation, and the ultimate victory of the eternal Kingdom of God (Acts 1:9-11, Daniel 12:2, Revelation 22:1-7).
